Viqueens finish fourth in 1A Lady Tiger Relays

RED OAK — The Stanton Viqueens finished fourth at the Lady Tigers Relay in Red Oak Friday.

Stanton scored 70 points during the relays.

Kadie Subbert took second place in the high jump, when she jumped 4’10”. Kara Allen finished fifth in the high jump.

The Viqueens 4x400 team, which consists of Macy Elwood, Carmen Subbert, Allen and Moriah Kammerer, took second. The 400-meter shuttle hurdle relay team finished second as well.

Avery Taylor had three top five finishes, including a second place finish in the 200-meter dash, a fourth place result in the long jump and fifth in the 100-meter dash.

Paige Peterson placed third in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:13.17. Peterson was also fifth in the long jump.

Carmen Subbert had a fifth place finish in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 18.03 seconds, while her older sister, Kadie, was sixth.  The younger Subbert was also fourth in the discus.

Julia Pfeiffer placed fifth in the 1,500 meter run with a time of 6:03.
The Viqueens finished fifth at the Lady Cardinal Relays, last Tuesday, accumulating a total score of 57 points.

Stanton's lone first place finish came in the shuttle relay, when they won with a time of 1:13.4, ahead of  Griswold, Mount Ayr and Essex.

Avery Taylor earned runner-up honors in the 200-meter dash with a time of 28.1 seconds, losing out to Mount Ayr's Madison Hosfield by four-hundredths of a second. Taylor also placed fourth in the high jump and long jump and fifth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.16 seconds.

Kadie Subbert took third in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 17.22 seconds, also tying for fourth with teammate Kara Allen in the high jump.

After competing in Creston on Monday, Stanton will travel to Shenandoah Thursday to compete in the Fillie Relays.
