Vera I. Lindsey, 88

Vera I. Lindsey, 88, of Red Oak died on March 10, 2009, at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital in Red Oak.

Vera Lindsey, daughter of William and Elva (Gard) Bateman, was born May 22, 1920, in Fremont County.

She was united in marriage to Joe Lindsey on May 2, 1942, in St. Joseph, Mo. Vera and Joe have made their home in Red Oak since 1942.

Vera was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Jackie Lindsey; granddaughter, Shelley; and sister, Wilma Dwinger.

Vera is survived by her husband of 66 years, Joe Lindsey of Red Oak; daughter, Judy (Jerry) Cooper of Tingley; two grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services were held on March 12 at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home. Burial was at Evergreen Cemetery, Red Oak, with Rev. Trevor Skalberg officiating.

A memorial is being established in Vera’s name.
