Tracy Ellspermann and Riley Smith

Leo and Sarah Smith of Red Oak announce the marriage of their son, Riley, to Tracy Ellspermann of Philadelphia, daughter of Gerry and Pam Ellspermann of Cincinnati and G. Dale and Ann Elsener of Kingfisher, Okla.  

Grandparent of the couple is Helen Wearin of Red Oak.  

The bride is a 1999 graduate of Ursuline Academy in Cincinnati and a 2003 graduate of Cornell University with a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering. The bride has worked for more than 10 years as a process engineer for Merck & Co., Inc., recently completing an 18-month assignment in Carlow, Ireland.

The groom is a 2000 graduate of Red Oak High School and a 2004 graduate of Iowa State University with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. The groom is a Lieutenant in the US Navy’s Civil Engineer Corps and has served in Philadelphia, Gulfport, Miss., Rota (Spain) and Port Hueneme, Calif.  

The wedding and reception took place outdoors Sept. 1, 2013, at Ash Mill Farm B and B, outside of Philadelphia.  Rev. Paul Richardson officiated the ceremony and Rev. Elizabeth Dilley provided a blessing.

The couple honeymooned in Tanzania and Uganda, Africa, including a successful climb to the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro. The couple has recently relocated to Seattle, where Riley will pursue a masters degree in urban planning at the University of Washington.
