Times announced for annual football, basketball camps
The Montgomery County Family YMCA and Red Oak High School Varsity Head Football Coach Mike Beason announced the times and dates for the 2009 Tiger Football Camp.
The camp will be open to boys entering 1st - 12th grade this upcoming school year and will take place on the Red Oak High School Practice Football Field, which is located west of high school.
Proper fundamentals will be stressed, especially with the younger players.
Camp session times and dates are:
1st - 6th Grades: Tuesday - Thursday, Aug. 4 - 6 from 6 - 7 p.m.
7th - 12th Grades: Monday - Thursday, Aug. 3 - 6 from 9 - 11 a.m.
Each camp participant will receive the 2009 Red Oak Football t-shirt at the end of camp if registered by July 28.
Registrations will be accepted up to the first day of camp.

Basketball Camp
The YMCA, and the City of Red Oak Park and Tree Board, will be offering a three-day Summer Boys Basketball Camp for boys entering third through 12th grade for the upcoming school year.
The camp will run from July 21 - July 23 and will take place at the YMCA gymnasium. Camp times for the various age groups are as follows:
— 3rd to 5th grade - 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.
— 6th to 8th grade - 10:30 a.m. - 12 p.m.
— 9th to 12th grade - 1 - 3 p.m.
6th - 8th grade and 9th - 12th grade may be combined and would meet from 10:30 a.m. -12:30 p.m.
The program will be under the direction of Red Oak High School Boy’s Head Varsity Basketball Coach Brad Schlieman. Former Red Oak standout Jason Abbuhl will assist.
The program will allow participants to continue to work and develop their shooting, passing, dribbling, rebounding, footwork, defense, offense, and sportsmanship skills.
