Tigers open district by hosting East Sac County

Red Oak begins District 2A-7 play Friday night at home against East Sac County.
The Raiders are 0-2 after losing at IKM-Manning, 20-14, and at home to Denison-Schleswig, 35-14, but Red Oak coach Barry Bower expects a battle.
“East Sac County is a good football team,” he said.
The Raiders have racked up air miles so far this season. Quarterback Sam Scott is 32-75 for 416 yards, three TDs and no interceptions. Dylan Baumhover leads the team with 11 receptions for 171 yards, 15.5 yards per catch. Konner Roth had eight catches for a 14.4-yard average. Nathan Kreft had seven catches, two for TDs.
On the ground, Kreft had 46 yards on 10 tries. Through two games, the Raiders have 91 yards rushing on 52 tries.
The Raiders’ punt game has been busy, too, with 13 through two games for a 26-yard average. Part of that reason is East Sac County has no turnovers through its first two games, statistics show.
IKM-Manning threw for 227 yards and ran for 136 yards against East Sac County. Denison-Schleswig threw for 98 yards and ran for 157 yards.
Kickoff Friday is at 7 p.m.
