Three Red Oak seniors honored by the Hawkeye 10 Board of Control

Three Red Oak High School seniors received an honor this past month from the Hawkeye 10 Board of Control. This organization represents all of the high school principals that belong to our athletic conference.

All three students have one thing in common; in order to be nominated they needed to earn a 29 on their ACT composite.

The three seniors nominated were Sarah Hayes, Craig White and Michael Manchester. Below is a brief synopsis of their successes at Red Oak High School.

Sarah Hayes: National Honor Society President  Academic Letters, Who’s Who Among American High School Students, All-Academic Team Tennis, Basketball Cheerleading Co-Captain, Football Cheerleading Co-Captain, Percussion Section Leader, Choreographed Show Choir Dances, Missoula Children’s Theatre, Youth Group Leader,  Choreo-graphed Senior Musical Theatre, Senior Speech Team Leader, Spirit Leader,  Varsity Tennis Letter, Band Letter, State Tennis Doubles, Tennis District Champs (Team), Atlantic Tennis Tournament (Champs), Tutor College Statistics Students, Knit and Donate Baby Hats for Hospital Nursery, Rake Leaves with Youth Group, Babysit at Church, Volunteer at Soup Kitchen, Empower Acting Troup  

Michael Manchester:  National Honor Society Officer, Head of Church Drama Department, Low Brass Section Leader, Varsity Choir, Minnisingers, Fall Plays, Spring Musicals, Camp Counselor for Guthrie Grove, Track, Cross Country, Participated in World Vision 30 Hour Famine, Volunteer at Grande Theatre, Volunteer Wilson Performing Arts Center, Volunteer to Serve YMCA Thanksgiving Meal, Organized Community Red Cross Blood Drive, Provided Daycare for Single Mothers Support Group, Received Fine Musicianship Award, Individual Speech State Qualifier, Large Group Band Member, Large Group and Solo Contests for Band and Choir.

Craig White:  High Honor Role, Class Treasurer, Member of United Methodist Youth Group, Volunteer for Junction Days for After Prom, Volunteered to Distribute Yellow Book, Organized ROTA Summer Tennis Tournament, Nominated to Business Horizons Camp, Nominated to the National Youth Leadership Forum, Member of National Society of High School Scholars
