Three arrested after traffic stop

Three people are facing charges after their arrest during a traffic stop in Montgomery County. 

On Aug. 27, at around 9 p.m., deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office were conducting a routine patrol in the area of Boxelder Avenue and Highway 34 when they observed a vehicle occupied by three males, eastbound on Highway 34 traveling at a high rate of speed. 

Deputies conducted a traffic stop at the 30 mile marker of the highway. As deputies approached, they detected an overwhelming odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. 

Upon further investigation, deputies seized 8.8 pounds of marijuana, 10.3 ounces of Psilocybin mushrooms, multiple dosage units of THC wax and oil, and paraphernalia from the vehicle. 

The suspects were identified as Adam Michael Abel, 20; Chandler Dean Parker, 18; and Dylon Lynn Dowdell. 18; all of the Union County area. 

All three suspects were charged with posession with intent to deliver Psilocybin mushrooms, posession with intent to deliver marijuana, and a drug tax stamp violation. 

The three suspects were transported to the Montgomery County Jail and held on $50,000 bond.
