Thomas Clyde Ingersoll, Jr., 60, Fresno, Calif., died Dec. 29, 2013, of lung cancer.
Thomas was born July 26, 1953, to Thomas Clyde Ingersoll, Sr. and Maxine Brees Ingersoll. Tom attended Villisca schools through the 8th grade. He attended high school in Red Oak where he graduated in 1971 and graduated from Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs with a degree in mechanics. He worked as a heavy equipment mechanic for 35 years.
Tom moved to California in 1988 with his long time girlfriend Angie Stout. Tom and Angie married in Las Vegas May 10, 1995. Tom used his pioneer spirit to prepare the land and build their homestead in the mountains near Squaw Valley, Calif., where they lived. Tom had a passion for Harley Davidson motorcycles, the Minnesota Vikings and NASCAR.
Tom was preceded in death by his grandparents; his father, Thomas Ingersoll, Sr.; stepmother, Roma Ingersoll; and stepfather, David Richard Hall.
Tom is survived by his wife, Angie of Squaw Valley; mother, Maxine Hall of Atlantic; brother, Bill Ingersoll and wife Brenda of Villisca; sister, Wendy England and husband David of Mesa, Ariz.; step-sisters, Jodie Cooper and husband Duane of Villisca and Vickie Sprague and husband Rick of Bedford; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
A celebration of life for Tom Ingersoll, Jr. will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 26, 2014, at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel with a time of visitation and lunch to follow at the Red Oak Eagles Lodge. Burial of the cremated remains will take place at Arlington Cemetery near Villisca.
