T’Wolves knocked out by IKM-Manning in 2A regionals
IRWIN — The Southwest Valley softball season ended in the quarterfinals of the 2A regional tournament last Wednesday when they lost 9-0 to IKM-Manning.
Southwest Valley was held to four hits in the game as IKM-Manning got on the board early and never looked back.
Danica Sunderman was responsible for two of those hits as she went 2-for-3. Lexi Bronner went 1-for-3 in the game, while Allie Bronner was 1-for-3 with a double.
Southwest Valley 8, Nodaway Valley 3
The Timberwolves reached the quarterfinals by defeating Nodaway Valley in the first round, last Tuesday.
Down 3-0 late in the game, Southwest Valley scored five runs in the sixth and three more in the seventh to advance.
Taylor Gaule had the best game in the lead-off spot as she went 3-for-4 with a double and two runs scored. Allie Bronner went 2-for-4 with two runs batted in.
Kelsie Kinman was 1-for-4 with a double. Both Kim Hults and Sydney Pontius were 1-for-4 in the game. Sunderman and Ashtyn Grossnickle went 1-for-3.
Southwest Valley ends their first season with an 11-14 record.
The team will lose three seniors, including Kinman, Gaule and Pontius.
