SW IA Arts Tour gets state funding

The Iowa Arts Council awarded the Southwest Iowa Arts Council a $3,000 grant to present the Southwest Iowa Art Tour.

The announcement was made last week and the funds were among $1.3 million granted by the state.

 The tour connects people from rural communities to artists through a self-guided tour in an eight-county region. The tour will take Iowans and others to more than 22 different locations where

they can interact with 75 artists in galleries and studios.

“These investments support artists and organizations who are raising the quality of life in our communities and making them more culturally vibrant and attractive places to live,” Iowa Arts Council Administrator Matthew Harris said. “We congratulate this year’s grant recipients and encourage all Iowans to fully experience and enjoy the arts in Iowa.”
