Sunderman, Focht among CC Boys Basketball selections

MONTGOMERY COUNTY—The all-conference list for boys’ basketball was released last week by the Corner Conference and features players from several area teams.

Villisca’s Damon Sunderman and East Mills’ Luke Schafer were among the first team selections for all-conference. Schafer, as well as Fremont-Mills’ Nate Meier and Corey Morrical, Nishnabotna’s Andrew Thompson and Clarinda Academy’s Kalif Brown were all unanimous selections to the first team. Brendon Hardy and Casey Cruickshank of Sidney were also first team selections.

Stanton had two players selected to the second team in Jeff Marshall and Greg Focht. Villisca’s Travis Herzberg was honored for the first time in his career as he was named second team all-conference.

Other players on the list include Essex’s Levi Allen, South Page’s Jacob Peterman, Clarinda Academy’s Damani Matthews and East Mills’ Daniel Duysen and Colden Hillyer.

For honorable mentions Fremont-Mills’ Logan Wood, AJ Scarborough and Nick Williams, as well as Adrien Hines of Clarinda Academy, Sidney’s Jacob Cain, South Page’s Zackery Neihart and Nishnabotna’s Joe Gude were selected.
