Subbert, Ross tabbed for all-district team
DES MOINES —Two area players were selected for the Class 1A West All-District softball team that was released Friday.
Stanton’s Carmen Subbert and Essex’s Skylar Ross, both infielders, were picked to be part of the team, two of three Corner Conference players on the list.
Subbert had a .500 batting average with 29 hits, 29 RBIs, 24 runs scored and 21 stolen bases in her senior season.
Ross, a senior, had a .449 batting average with a .628 slugging percentage with two home runs and 40 runs scored .
Fremont-Mills’ Taryn Williams was also chosen to be part of the all-district team.
The rest of the list features Exira-EHK’s Rachel Smith, Kennedy Madsen and Mara Burmeister, Glidden-Ralston’s Kaylee Weber, Lauren Mahlberg and Holly Handlos, Ar-We-Va’s Paige Danner and Kyrsten Lampman, Charter Oak-Ute’s Ashley Ewoldt, Emilee Meadows and Abby Dobernecker, West Harrison’s Morgan Shearer, CAM’s Tehya Hansen and Coon Rapids-Bayard’s Kelsey Winnett.
Jason Stoltzfus of Charter Oak-Ute was picked as the district coach of the year in 1A West District softball.
