Stella Govig, 71

Stella Louise Govig, 71, Red Oak, died Monday, April 7, 2014, at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha after a sudden illness.

Stella was born April 6, 1943, in Pottawattamie County, near Griswold, the daughter of Harvey and Mary “Leola” (Gillpatrick) Sexton.

She married Ron Govig May 1, 1959, in Clarinda.

Survivors include her husband of nearly 55 years, Ron Govig of Red Oak; a son, John Govig of Red Oak; and a sister, Beverly Semmons of Stanton.

Funeral services were 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 11, 2014, at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery.

A memorial fund is being established in Stella’s memory.
