Stanton takes fifth at Clarinda

CLARINDA — The Stanton Vikings boys track team placed fifth at the Cardinal Relays in Clarinda, last Friday.

Stanton earned several top three finishes during the meet, including a second place finishes from Greg Focht in the 100-meter dash and Jeff Marshall in the 110-meter hurdles. Marshall also placed fifth in the 400-meter hurdles.

The shuttle relay team for Stanton also placed second, when they ran a time of 1:09.24, finishing behind Bedford.

In the 4x100 relays, Stanton finished third with a time of 48.09 seconds. Their only other third place finish came from Tyler Walter in the long jump as he jumped 19’1 3/4”.

Andrew Cerven placed fourth in the shot put, when he threw 40’1”.
In the 4x200 relays, Stanton took fifth with a time of 1:40.73. Cade Confer placed sixth for Stanton in the high jump with 5’2”.
