Stanton drops sixth straight at Sidney
SIDNEY—The Stanton Vikings boys’ basketball team lost their sixth straight game last Tuesday night to the Sidney Cowboys, 51-32.
Last Monday night, the Vikings lost to the Riverside Bulldogs in Oakland, 59-37.
The Bulldogs scored double-digit points in each of the four quarters, including 17 in the first and fourth.
Stanton turned the ball over 11 times in the game, while Riverside turned it over six.
The Bulldogs Ricky Williams was the high scorer for the game, with 19 points. His 19 rebounds gave Williams the double-double.
Riverside had 40 rebounds, with nearly half of them coming off the offensive glass.
With the loss, Stanton is now 1-7 on the season. Their last win came Dec. 7 against South Page.
With a break in store for the Vikings, they return to action Jan. 7 when they play a home game against Fremont-Mills.
