Stanton at 10-0 after close win over F-M
STANTON – The Vikings ran their record to 10-0 with a pair of wins this week, including a thrilling come-from-behind one against Fremont-Mills.
Playing in Tabor, Alex Becthold’s last second free throw gave Stanton a 53-52 win, capping a 13-8 fourth quarter run to give the Vikings the win.
Becthold finished the game with 11 points and 12 rebounds while David Sorensen led the team with 13 points, including four of eight from beyond the arc. Brady Johnson contributed with nine points, 10 rebounds, three assists and a pair of steals.
Friday night, Stanton remained on the road and beat Nishnabotna 48-36, ourscoring the Blue Devils in all four quarters.
Johnson led the team on both ends of the court with 15 points and 12 rebounds, adding four steals and a pair of blocks.
Connor Hultman scored 13 with three assists, three steals and two blocks, and David Sorensen scored 11.
Stanton takes its perfect record to Clarinda Tuesday in a game against Clarinda Academy before returning home Friday in a Corner Conference game against Sidney.
