Stabbing leads to attempted murder charge
RED OAK — A Red Oak woman was arrested on attempted murder charges over the weekend after stabbing her boyfriend.
Kathi Renee Lehman, 25, is in custody on a $25,000 bond on a Class B felony of attempted murder and two counts of child endangerment, an aggravated misdemeanor.
According to reports, the Red Oak Police Department was notified of the stabbing at 10:58 p.m., Saturday. Upon arriving at the 2400 N. 8th Street apartment, police found Patrick James Colebank, 49, had been stabbed in the upper left side with a butcher's knife.
Colebank, of Red Oak, was transported by Red Oak Rescue to the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital, where he was immediately transported by medical helicopter to Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha.
His condition has been stabilized and he was interviewed by Red Oak police officers Sunday.
During their investigation, officers learned Lehman and Colebank had become involved in an argument, leading to the stabbing.
Lehman did not suffer any injuries, and after processing at the Montgomery County jail, was transferred to Adams County.
The child endangerment charges stem from Lehman's two children living in the apartment, a two and a one-year-old
