30th annual YMCA Turkey Trot
The Montgomery County Family YMCA 30th annual Thanksgiving Day “Turkey Trot” held on Thursday, Nov. 28, had more than 100 participants in three events: the 5-mile run, 2-mile run, and 2-mile walk. The race began and ended in front of the Y, taking a circuitous route through Red Oak. Division winners received free turkey certificates from Hy-Vee or Fareway, and raffle prizes were drawn after the racers finished. Canine companions Griffin French, Luciano Webb, and Winnie Orme accompanied their owners in the race. Sincere appreciation goes out to all the volunteers that helped make this race a possibility!
