Sports Calendar: January 27

It's a busy day of basketball on the sports calendar for Tuesday as most of the area teams are in action.

Both Red Oak basketball teams, fresh off wins over Southwest Valley Monday night, will be back in action Tuesday with games versus St. Albert.

The boys team will be home, while the girls team travels to St. Albert as both teams take part in a JV/varsity doubleheader. The JV games will start first at 6 p.m.

In the Corner Conference, the doubleheader match-up of the night will take place in Malvern as East Mills hosts Stanton. The girls game start first at 6 p.m., with the boys to follow.

Meanwhile, the Essex basketball teams make the trip to Missouri to face Tarkio High School. The doubleheader starts first at 6 p.m. with the girls game.

In Pride of Iowa action, the Southwest Valley basketball teams are back home when they host Nodaway Valley as part of a doubleheader starting at 6:15 p.m.

Finally, the Griswold basketball teams go on the road as they head to Manning for a doubleheader against IKM-Manning. The varsity doubleheader starts at 6 p.m.

There is on wrestling meet on the calendar for Tuesday night. Both East Mills and Griswold will head to Shenandoah to take part in a quad. Exira-EHK will also be part of the quad, which starts at 5:30 p.m. at Shenandoah High School.
