Sheriff's searching for Creston man, two others arrested
Two people are in custody but a third remains at large following an investigation into a stolen property incident.
The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office said they were called to the 2900 block of 100th Street at around 3:30 p.m. Oct. 8. The caller reported suspicious persons on his property riding four-wheelers.
At around 7:20 p.m., the deputies arrested Joseph Earl Smith, 39, of Red Oak, and at around 10 p.m., arrested Paula Sue Blake, 48, of Essex, both on charges of possession of stolen property, a Class C felony Both were taken to the Montgomery County Law Enforcement Center and held on $10,000 bond.
A third suspect is wanted in connection with this incident. The sheriff's office is actively searching for Austin Allan Jones, 24, of Creston. He's described as a white male, 6 ft. tall, and 185 pounds. Deputies recovered a handgun believed to belong to Jones.
It is unknown at this time if he is further armed and he should not be approached. Contact local law enforcement if you encounter Jones.
