Sharon Foss, 72
Sharon Foss, 72, Emerson, formerly of Tucson, Ariz., died Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013, at the Good Samaritan Society in Red Oak after an extended illness.
Sharon Sue Foss was born Aug. 10, 1941, in Council Bluffs, the daughter of Virgil Wayne and Mary Elaine (Churchman) Curtis. She graduated from Strahan High School in 1960 and attended two years at Northwest Missouri State University.
Sharon married David Foss Sept. 18, 1962, in Strahan. They lived many different places throughout the years while David was in the military. Sharon moved back to Iowa in April of 2013.
Preceding her in death were her parents and an infant sister, Donna Lorraine Curtis.
Survivors include her husband, David Foss of Tucson, Ariz.; children, Tanya Foss and husband David Pritchard of Albany, N.Y. and Scott Foss and wife Lily of Hesperia, Calif.; a brother, Ron Curtis and wife Pat of Red Oak; a sister-in-law, Lola Wilson and husband Gale Hemmett of Bakersfield, Calif.; an aunt, Lissie Curtis of Red Oak; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A celebration of life service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013, at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel with Rev. Ricky Rohrig officiating. Burial of the cremated remains will take place at a later date at the Walnut Cemetery near Emerson. Memorials are suggested to the Good Samaritan Society Dove Suite.
