Road work resumes on Highway 34

The following information was shared from Dane Parrish, project manager with Concrete Technologies, Inc.

 

Our paving operation is planned to begin Thursday, Aug. 22 at the West end of the project working our way East.  Our first pave will be from 48 to 4^th St and the trucks will be coming into the project via 4^th St.  this will create some congestion but we should be able to manage to keep the road clear for traffic.  As we move past 4^th St we will start bringing trucks into the job site at 8^th St.  when this happens we will be temporarily closing 8^th St as a safety precaution.  Most likely this shutdown will only be for 6-7 hrs on Friday.

 

• Traffic WILL be allowed to go east/west on Highway 34.
• On Thursday (morning/day) and Friday morning, traffic will NOT be able to turn north onto 8^th Street off of Highway 34 or turn south on 8^th Street onto Highway 34;they hope to open it back up in the late afternoon/evening on Thursday and after noon on Friday.
• 4^th Street will remain closed (although they will be entering 4^th to get in between Senate and the barricades – it will remain closed to traffic and they will put up some cones or point person).
