Red Oak track girls move up in ranks

The Red Oak girls competed in the Treynor Cardinal Relays, finishing in 11th of 14 teams on Monday, April 15. In the process, the distance medley relay team cut off some time and moved into 10th place in Class 2A in the state.
“We had a good team effort today with some new roles for the girls,” head coach Curtis Adams said.

The Fillies Relays were held Tuesday, April 16 as a rescheduled meet due to weather the previous Thursday. Red Oak edged out Riverside by one point to finish sixth of 11 teams.

The Timberwolves broke PRs, season bests, and a school record.
“Kyli Aldrich finished third in the shot put, but launched an impressive throw of 35’3.5” to set the new school record, improving her personal best throw by 2’1.5”,” Timberwolves girls head coach Jason Hults said. “Coach Longabaugh, the throws coach, and I were very excited for Kyli, and as a freshman, she has a lot of potential for continued improvement and success. Having back-to-back meets at this point in the season provided a good opportunity to measure the fitness of our team. I was very impressed with the overall performance of the girls with the PRs and SBs that we saw. I was also impressed with the attitude of the girls tonight. Some of them had not so good performances last night, but bounced back and had PRs tonitht.”
