Red Oak students attend large group speech

Several Red Oak High School students will be attending the Southwest Iowa Large Group Speech in Ankeny Saturday, Feb. 4. Rounds begin at 8 a.m.

Those going to State are:

• Stephanie Parris, Brittany Carlson, Kristi Yardas and Andrea Miller in Improvisational Acting.

• Sarah Hayes and Brad Black in Ensemble Acting performing “Daren’s Cry.”

• Stephanie Parris, Brittany Carlson, Kristi Yardas, Andrea Miller, Sarah Hayes and Chloey Adams in Musical Theatre performing “Cell Block Tango.”

• Bevin Griffen, Eva Woods and Travis Schon in Ensemble Acting performing “The 4th Digit.”

• Angelica Cerda and Ellen Fellers in Ensemble Acting performing “The Battle of Brown and Whitmore.”

• Angelica Cerda, Ellen Fellers, Laura Butz and Maggie Bennett in Improvisational Acting.

Each room will have three judges rating groups on a numbered scale, with “1” equaling a rating of “excellent.” The judges will also select groups which get to attend all-state. For more information visit www.ihssa.org and look to our next issue for ratings.
