Red Oak, Stanton football athletes receive Omaha newspaper honors
OMAHA—Red Oak and Stanton high school football athletes were recently named to The Omaha-World Herald’s Western Iowa All-Class team, released Dec. 12.
Red Oak running back Seth Esaias was named to second team offense in the 3A/4A category.
Esaias, the lone Tiger receiving the honor, led Red Oak in rushing and receiving for the season.
For Stanton, Tyler Havrum received first-team honors on defense in the eight-man class.
Andrew Cerven and Austin Becthold received second team honors, Cerven for offense and Becthold for defense.
Havrum led the district in interceptions this season with seven.
Becthold led the Vikings and was fifth in the district in tackles for loss with 20.
Red Oak finished the 2010 football campaign with a 1-8 record.
Stanton finished their season with another trip to the state playoffs, where they lost in the second round to Glidden-Ralston.
