Red Oak pool demolition begins
Renovations to the City of Red Oak’s municipal pool are running smoothly.
At the regular meeting of the Red Oak City Council on Sept. 16, city administrator Brad Wright updated the council members on the progress of the project so far.
“They have brought in a larger hoe for some of the work, and have brought in a wrecking ball to break out the walls of the portion of the pool they are renovating. With the way things were built years ago, and the amount of rebar used, it’s solid. They have had struggles getting some of those walls broken out and removed, but we are making progress,” Wright said.
The city is continuing to hold progress meetings with the project’s contractor, but Wright said so far, the project is going very well.
“The contractor is hoping to be pouring new concrete for the project within a month, if all goes well,” commented Wright.
