Red Oak National Honor Society members

On Nov. 29 the Oak Chapter of National Honor Society at Red Oak High School inducted 10 new members. 

New inductees were: Seniors: Hilary Jackson, daughter of David and Sonia Jackson; Katherine Jardon, daughter of Joseph and Mary Jardon; Phylip Keat, son of Jack and Loni Keat; Arik Ostler, son of Steve and Marlys Ostler; Brittany Walker, daughter of Johnny and Kathy Walker. Juniors: Brittany Carlson, daughter of Kerry and Elaine Carlson; Sarah Hayes, daughter of Warren and Peggy Hayes; Michael Manchester, son of Cara Crawford and Mark Manchester; Andrea Miller, daughter of Dan and Denise Miller and Jasmine Rigby, daughter of Angela Hayes and William Rigby.
The induction was held at the Wilson Performing Arts Center and was conducted by current National Honor Society members, Katie Jordan, Chantal Sperling, Ellaine Walker, Allison Behrens, Matthew Goracke, and Rachel Pierson.  The students were honored an encouraging address by ROHS English instructor Laura Horn and Principal Jedd Sherman shared some interesting facts of NHS and also shared in congratulating the inductees.  A reception followed the ceremony.
NHS students also hosted an American Red Cross Blood Drive on Dec. 1 as one of the service projects.  There were 58 donors, which saves approximately 174 lives.
