Red Oak Memorial Day program cancelled

 The members of the Montgomery County Veterans Memorial Court of Honor have made the decision to cancel the Memorial Day program that is annually held at the Evergreen Cemetery this year.

The Court of Honor will not be putting up the dedicated flags, as usual, but instead will place flags around Fountain Square Park, and will also place some flags in specific places around Evergreen Cemetery.

Due to the pandemic, and distancing guidelines, members of the Court of Honor will place the flags this year, and are not asking for assistance from the public, though they know and acknowledge how much the public enjoys helping and they do appreciate the help.

Court of Honor officials say they will be ready to go forward with the program next year, and the flags that were to be dedicated in 2020 will be designated in 2021, along with the 2021 class.
