Red Oak man charged with sexual abuse of two-year-old

A Red Oak man, already in jail in connection with a fractured skull his daughter suffered, has now been charged with sexually abusing the same two-year-old girl.

Kristopher Davies, 27, was charged last week with sexual abuse in the second degree, a Class B felony.

According to court records, Davies assaulted his daughter, causing physical injuries beyond the four fractures to her skull.

Davies was already in custody on a $50,000 bond on a felony charge of child endangerment. As a result of the new charge, his bond increased to $75,000.

Davies and his wife, Joslin, were first arrested Thursday, July 23, on the child endangerment charge.

In his report, the arresting officer stated “the defendant(s) did admittedly and willfully deprive the victims of necessary health care and in depriving the victims of the health care, did substantially harm the child’s physical and mental health.”

Later in the report, police state the children were injured Tuesday about 7 p.m.

Both children were taken from the home to the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital for treatment, but soon after were transported to an Omaha hospital with what is being described as “serious” injuries.

The report does not indicate how the children were injured, but police added in a press release “officers … are still investigating other possible charges.”

The children were released from the hospital last week and have been interviewed by officers and social workers.
