Red Oak hosting electronic recycling event
RED OAK — Montgomery County residents will have the opportunity to recycle their unwanted and unused electronic items Saturday, May 10 in Red Oak.
From 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds, residents can drop off electronic items free of charge, for recycling.
Items to be accepted include computers, laptops, servers, monitors, flat screens, televisions, printers, copiers, faxes, scanners, stereos, radios, DVD players, charging stations, gaming equipment and household batteries.
There is a limit of two cathode ray tubes (CRT) per vehicle. CRTs are found in older, box-style televisions and computer monitors.
Big box appliances, air conditioners and vacuum cleaners will not be accepted.
All materials and hard drives will be shredded at a Datashield facility in Omaha.
The Montgomery County Landfill Association is sponsoring the event. For more information, call Datashield at 402-898-5000.
