Red Oak Hall of Fame nominations due May 1

 RED OAK — Time is running out to submit nominations for the Red Oak Sports Hall of Fame.

The deadline is set for the end of the day May 1 to Red Oak High School.

Mail nominations to Jeff Spotts, Assistant Principal/AD, at Red Oak High School, 2011 N. 8th St., Red Oak, IA 51566. They can also be sent via email to spottsj@roschools.com

Athletes are eligible for nomination 10 years after they graduate. Additional criteria such as playing in multiple sports, as well as character and earning special awards during the high school career will be considered.

For coaches, the criteria is focused on the years of service, as well as records and awards and year of retirement.

The criteria for athletic directors focuses on years of service, as well as awards and special events that occurred during their tenure.

The selection committee will gather together later next month to select the recipient(s). An announcement is expected toward the end of May.

The induction ceremony will take place during Homecoming.
