Red Oak falls short in triangular
RED OAK — The Red Oak golf teams finished third in its triangulars versus Atlantic and Shenandoah Thursday.
The girls were home as they had a team score of 247. Atlantic was first with 181 and Shenandoah was second with 212. The top golfer was Shelbie Perez, who shot a 57. Reilley Black shot a 60, while Lauren Gilbert had a 63. Belle Perkins had a 67 and Sadie Uhlenberg finished with a 69.
The boys meanwhile had a score of 184.
Nick Carlson shot a 42, while Gabe Nelson had a 45 and Nolan Black a 46.
Ethan Hewett and Justin Bernard both had 51s and Christian Horn shot a 68.
Red Oak vs. Clarinda
The Tigers missed out on knocking off Clarinda at meets at separate locations last Tuesday.
The girls were home as they fell short 213-237.
Gilbert narrowly missed out on medaling for the Tigers as she shot a 53, one stroke behind Grace Davidson, the runner-up for Clarinda. Maddy Davidson of Clarinda shot a 49 to medal.
Perez shot a 58 for Red Oak, while Black had a 60. Uhlenberg shot a 66 and Perkins shot a 77.
The boys meanwhile lost 157-178.
Carlson missed out on medaling for Red Oak, recording a 40. Connor Pirtle (38) and Bryce Neal (39) of Clarinda were the medalist and runner-up.
Bernard shot a 44 for Red Oak, while Nolan Black shot a 45.
Plambeck and Connor Johnson both shot 49s, while Gabe Nelson had a 51.
