Red Oak Fabrication to expand its powder coat business

One of Red Oak’s oldest businesses is expanding.
Jordan Fort of Red Oak Fabrication said they purchased a second powder coat line, which is projected to be up and running by October.
However, prior to October Fort said he needs six to eight new employees to work on the line; two of which he’d like started by August.
“The only person we would like to have experience is the powder coat application person,” Fort said.
Fort explained powder coating is a type of coating applied as a free-flowing, dry powder.
“Unlike conventional liquid paint, which is delivered via an evaporating solvent, powder coating is typically applied electrostatically and then cured under heat,” he said.
Red Oak Fabrication currently employs 55 full-time employees. They offer CNC laser cutting, plasma cutting, powder coating, CNC machining, water jet, plate rolling, press break and custom drafting services.
In business since 1913, the company was first known as Pike Machine Shop. In 1923, the business name changed to Red Oak Machine Co. and today it is Red Oak Fabrication with three locations, all in Red Oak.
Those interested in the positions can apply in person to Jordan or Jacob Fort at its north facility at 2400 N. Broadway, Door A.
