ACCIDENTS

• On Sept. 13, at 3:18 p.m., Red Oak Police officers investigated a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of 2nd and Joy streets. Akaela Johnson, 20, Red Oak, driving a 2007 Pontiac Torrent, was traveling east on Joy Street and approaching the intersection, when, according to the report, she failed to yield the right of way to Clarence Duckett, Sr., 70, Red Oak, who was traveling north on 2nd Street in a 1970 Ford Torino. The Johnson vehicle hit the Torino on the driver side front fender. Damage to each vehicle was about $1,500. Johnson was cited for failure to yield upon entering through highway.

• On Sept. 15, at 8:13 p.m., Red Oak Police officers investigated a single-vehicle accident at the intersection of Eastern Avenue and U.S. Highway 34. Megan Schoonover, 19, Shenandoah, driving a 2012 Chevrolet Malibu, was headed west on Highway 34 when her vehicle struck a deer. Schoonover had no injuries. Damage to the vehicle was about $2,500.
