ACCIDENTS
• On Oct. 24, at about 4:31 p.m., Red Oak Police officers investigated a two-vehicle accident in the 300 block of Coolbaugh St. Michael Logan, 67, Red Oak, driving a 2002 Ford Escort, was traveling east on Coolbaugh St, when he moved to the left lane on the one-way street to avoid construction. He was unable to stop and unable to avoid a legally parked 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer, which he struck. Damage to the Trailblazer was about $500, while damage to the Logan vehicle was estimated at $1,500. There were no injuries, and no citations were issued.
• On Oct. 29, at about 11:46 a.m., Red Oak Police officers investigated a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of U. S. Highway 34 and 4th Street. Trudy Swenson, 45, Villisca, driving a 2008 Jeep Wrangler, was traveling west on Highway 34 when Brenda Dickerson, 49, Emerson, driving a 2011 Ford Taurus and traveling north on 4th Street, entered the intersection before it was clear, where the Dickerson vehicle was struck by the Swenson vehicle. Damage to the Swenson vehicle was about $500, while damage to the Dickerson vehicle was estimated at $13,000, a total loss. There were no injuries, and Dickerson was cited for failure to obey stop sign.
