ACCIDENTS
• On Oct. 22, at 1:59 p.m., Red Oak Police officers investigated a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of North Broadway and Cherry Street. Clayton Renander, 72, Red Oak, driving a 2015 Ford Edge, was traveling south on Broadway and was stopped behind several vehicles at the stoplight at the intersection. Michael Kiefer, 70, Red Oak, driving a 2013 GMC Sierra, was behind the Renander vehicle and failed to stop in time and his vehicle made contact with the Renander vehicle. According to the report, Kiefer state that the light had turned green as he was approaching, he turned to speak to his wife, the vehicles in front of him did not proceed through the light, and although he tried to stop he couldn’t. Damage to the Renander vehicle was about $1,500, and damage to the Kiefer vehicle was about $1,000. No citations were issued.
