ACCIDENTS

• On Aug. 7, at 2:45 p.m., Red Oak Police officers investigated a hit and run accident at the intersection of East Elm and North 6th streets. Jessica Dady, 30, Red Oak, driving a 1998 Ford Expedition owned by Eric Roach of Lenox, was traveling west on Elm Street and entered the intersection when a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by Scott Johnson, 53, Red Oak, which was traveling north on 6th Street failed to yield right of way and struck the Dady vehicle, stopped briefly, and then left the scene. Using a description given by Dady, officers located the vehicle a short time later. According to the report, Johnson stated he didn’t know he had to yield at the intersection. Damage to the Dady vehicle was about $1,900, and damage to the Johnson vehicle was about $2,000. Johnson was cited for leaving the scene of the accident.
