ACCIDENTS

• On July 27, at 9:31 a.m., Red Oak Police officers investigated a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of East Valley and 8th streets. Cheyenne Peterson, 45, Red Oak, driving a 1998 Chrysler Concorde, was traveling east on Valley Street. Cody Walford, 29, Red Oak, driving a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado pick up, was driving north on 8th Street. As the Walford vehicle was approaching the intersection, the Peterson vehicle pulled away from the stop sign and struck it. The Walford vehicle spun sideways, struck a fire hydrant and came to rest in the street. Cost to the Peterson vehicle was about $2,000, and damage to the Walford vehicle was about $1,500. Peterson was charged with failure to yield from a stop sign.
