INCIDENTS

• A Red Oak man was charged with a felony after agreeing to sell methamphetamine to an undercover officer. According to a press release from the Red Oak Police Department and documents filed in the district court for Montgomery County, on Tuesday, May 31, the department arrested Andrew Thomas Copeland Falk, 31, of 600 Miller Ave., on a warrant for possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, a Class C felony, and possession of prescription pills, a serious misdemeanor. He was originally held on $50,000 bond, but that was reduced to $5,000 later in the week. Court documents allege Falk agreed to sell about 2 grams of meth to an undercover officer for $100. The search located 1.82 grams of methamphetamine, the documents said. The search also resulted in a charge for possession of 15 Alprazolam pills for which there was no prescription.

• On June 3, at about 8:10 a.m., a residence north of Villisca was burglarized by a heavyset white male wearing tan shorts and a grey t-shirt, who walked with a limp. He was driving an older black Lexus. The plates were red-lettered plastic dealership style. His name might be “Joe.” The Lexus was recovered and impounded June 5 at about 4:50 p.m. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Montgomery County Sheriff’s office at 888-434-2712.

ACCIDENTS

• On June 1, at about 8:32 a.m., Red Oak Police officers investigated a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Valley Street and 1st Street. Carole Golla, 73, Delhi, N.Y., driving a 2007 Saturn Aur, was traveling west on Valley Street and had entered and had control of the intersection with 1st Street. Autumn Leibert, 18, Red Oak, driving a 2015 Dodge Dart, was traveling north and failed to yield, colliding with the Golla vehicle.  Golla’s vehicle had about $4,000 damage, while damage to the Leibert vehicle was about $4,500. Leibert was cited for failing to yield to the vehicle on the right.

• On June 1, at about 6:33 p.m., Montgomery County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the intersection of 200th Street and G Avenue for a one-vehicle accident. David Minard, 33, Red Oak, driving a 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix was traveling west on 200th Street when he tried to pass a vehicle. When he entered the eastbound lane, his tires dropped off the road and onto the shoulder, causing him to lose control and enter the ditch. Damage to the vehicle was about $3,500. Minard was cited for driving without a valid license, passing contrary to road markings, open container, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Minard was arrested for two warrants for contempt – resistance to order or process. He is being held on $2,000 bond.
