ACCIDENTS

• On May 27, at about 7:30 a.m., Red Oak Police officers received a report of an accident in the 1200 block of Eastern Avenue. A 2014 Ford Fusion owned by Esther Ross of Stanton and driven by William Spann, 33, Red Oak, was traveling south on Eastern Avenue when Spann reported the steering possibly failed and he could not steer the vehicle, which crossed over Eastern Avenue, went through a yard owned by Joan Selser, and struck a utility pole owned by MidAmerican Energy. The vehicle was unattended and was parked on the north side of the street. Damage to the vehicle is estimated at $4,500, damage to the pole is about $1,500, and damage to the yard is about $200. No citations were issued.
