ACCIDENTS

• On April 19, at 7:55 a.m., Red Oak Police officers investigated a two-vehicle accident on North 4th Street near the high school driveway. Yaeline Ramos Ramos, 16, Red Oak, driving a 2008 Toyota Rav owned by Maleni Ramos, Red Oak, was traveling south on 4th Street and turning into the high school parking lot driveway. Haley Plambeck, 15, Red Oak, driving a 2012 Kia Rio owned by Kimberly Plambeck, Red Oak, was westbound in the driveway and approaching 4th Street. According to the report, Plambeck pulled out onto 4th Street, failing to yield to the Ramos vehicle at the stop sign, and struck the Ramos vehicle. Damage to each vehicle was about  $2,500. No citations were issued.

• On April 20, at 8:01 a.m., Red Oak Police officers investigated a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of West Joy Street and Broadway. Sheree Rhodes, 63, Red Oak, driving a 2011 Buick LaCrosse, was traveling west on Joy Street and had stopped at the stop sign. Andrew Jones, 37, Red Oak, driving a 2009 Chevrolet van owned by Jones Mechanical, Inc., Red Oak, was traveling south on Broadway. As Jones got to the intersection with Joy Street, Rhodes pulled out in front of his vehicle. The Jones vehicle struck the Rhodes vehicle, causing $3,000 damage to the Rhodes vehicle and $5,000 damage to the Jones vehicle. Rhodes was cited for failing to yield from the stop sign. The Jones vehicle was towed from the scene.
