ACCIDENTS

• On April 7, at about 7:20 a.m., Red Oak Police officers investigated a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of State Highway 34 and State Highway 48. Antoinette Glassinger, 34, Lewis, driving a 2008 Chevrolet Malibu, was traveling south on State Highway 48 and was turning east. Deborah Wright, 52, Red Oak, was traveling north on State Highway 48 and was going straight. A semi was headed east on State Highway 34, was stopped at the intersection and and pulled away from the stop sign. As it was going through the intersection, the Glassinger vehicle pulled away from the stop sign to turn east behind the semi. Wright did not see the Glassinger vehicle due to the semi and pulled into the intersection, heading north, and struck the Glassinger vehicle. Damage to the Glassinger vehicle was about $2,000, while damage to the Wright vehicle was estimated at $2,500. No citations were issued.
