ACCIDENTS

• On April 3, at 3:31 p.m., Montgomery County Sheriff’s deputies investigated a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of highways 34 and 71. Ronald Franks, 76, Essex, driving a 2002 Peterbilt semi-truck, pulled out from the stop sign on Highway 34 and began turning south onto Highway 71. Parsu Gurung, 36, Utica, N.Y., driving a 2016 Freightliner semi-truck, was traveling north on Highway 71. The Gurung vehicle swerved but hit the trailer of the Franks vehicle. Damage to the Franks trailer was about $100, and damage to the Gurung vehicle was about $15,000. No citations were issued and no injuries were reported.
