INCIDENTS
• On March 20, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s office investigated two burglaries occurring on that date, one at 226 U.S. Highway 71 north of Villisca and 2123 Nature Ave. northwest of Stanton. Both burglaries are believed to be connected and to have taken place between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Items taken in both burglaries included cash, jewelry, and firearms. According to the report, it is believed at least two people are involved, and one may be a female. A possible suspect vehicle is described as a full-size maroon or similarly colored SUV. It is also believed the people have been in the Montgomery and Page county area for the past few days and may have come into contact with rural residents. Anyone having information or contact with persons who stopped at a rural residence for assistance or who has seen unfamiliar vehicles is asked to contact law enforcement immediately. Also, Southwest Iowa residents, especially rural residents are asked to make sure doors, windows, outbuildings, and vehicles are kept locked.
On March 20, at 12:18 p.m., Red Oak Police officers responded to a parking complaint in the 600 block of North 6th Street and found that the vehicle, a 1997 Dodge R15 pick-up, was stolen from the Glenwood area early that morning. The vehicle, owned by David Jenkins, Sr., of Glenwood, was impounded and the investigation was underway.
