Paul Gustave Nelson, 72

Paul Gustave Nelson, 72, died Nov. 2, 2008.
He was born Sept. 10, 1936, to Beda and Gustave Nelson.
Nelson is survived by his wife, Ruth, children; Mark (Zeidy) Nelson, Rachel (Galo) Vargas, Daniel, Matthew, Benjamin (Brae) Nelson; five grandchildren; sister, Lillian (Dean) Hunt of Iowa and many relatives in both the U.S. and Sweden. 
He was prededed in death by his daughter, Jennifer. 
Nelson attended Augustana College and graduated from Art Center in California with a degree in product design. 
He worked for the Brook Stevens Firm in Milwaukee, Wis., before moving to Sweden to attend the Konstfackskolan in Stockholm.
In Sweden he married the love of his life, Ruth, and their first three children were born while he worked as a freelance designer. 
After returning to the U.S., Paul taught at Layton School of the Arts and was one of the founders of MIAD in Milwaukee.
He established his own company, Impetus Inc., functioning as a freelance designer until his retirement. 
A funeral was held Nov. 8, 2008, at Wisconsin Memorial Park in the Northwest Chapel in the Family Center.

Harder Funeral Home of Brookfield, Wis., was in charge of arrangements.
