Editor’s Note: Running unopposed in the June 7 primary is Mike Olson. Olson is runing for another term as the District 2 Board of Supervisors for Montgomery County.

Why are you running for office?
To continue to serve the people of Montgomery County.

Is this a position you’ve held before? If yes, when?
Yes, I was appointed to the board in July of 2016.

What is your relevant experience?
Six years experience on the board.

If elected, what are your top two priorities, and why?
The 250th Street bridge replacement. Also, to hold the line on spending.

Are you a member of any local clubs/organizations/boards?
Yes. I’m a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, the Red Oak FFA Alumni Association, the Montgomery County Development Corporation Board, Montgomery County Family Support Network, Boost-4-Families, Sunshine & Rainbows Child Care, the Fourth Judicial District, Southwest Iowa Juvenile Detention Board, Red Oak Elks Lodge 1304, and Montgomery County Shooting Sports.

Who inspires you?
My family.

Family info: Spouse/children/grandchildren:
I am single. I have three children and two grandchildren.

I would like to thank the people of Montgomery County for their support.
Will you have another job while serving on the board? If so, how will this affect your ability to serve your constituents?
Yes. I also farm with my youngest son, Kyle. It will not affect my ability to serve in any way.

Lastly, in your words, what is the role of the position you’re seeking (supervisor)
As a supervisor, I believe my role is to represent all citizens of Montgomery County to the best of my ability.
