October volunteers of the month named
Jameson McDonald, Ellyanna McDonald, Nicole Vorhies, Brayden Sifford, and Bradley Sifford have all been named Volunteers of the month for October. Jameson and Ellyanna, children of John and Ashley McDonald of Stanton walked in the Stanton Homecoming Parade representing the YMCA along with Nicole Vorhies, daughter of Mike and Valerie Vorhies of Stanton.
Bradley and his grandmother, Diane Sifford who serves on the YMCA’s Board of Director’s, called out numbers at the ever popular BINGO at the Montgomery County Fair this summer. Brayden also helped at Bingo and assisted Grandma as she picked up prizes for the YMCA Golf Tee Tournament in September. Bradley and Braden are the sons of Jamie and Melanie Sifford and grandsons of Jim and Diane Sifford, all of Red Oak.
Volunteers at the YMCA are of many ages. We feel that “giving back to your community” can be learned at a very young age and then can be easily done during a persons entire life and this is just one small way to show young people how important volunteerism is and how much fun and satisfaction you can have doing it.
For more information about becoming a volunteer of the Montgomery County Family YMCA, please call the YMCA at 712-623-2161.
