William "Bill" Stuvick, 95

William Lee “Bill” Stuvick, 95, of Red Oak, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2024, at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital.
Bill was born July 6, 1929, in Red Oak, the son of William and Opal (Halbert) Stuvick. He graduated from Red Oak High School in 1946 and worked for Red Oak Wholesale Fruit and Grocery.
He was united in marriage to Ellizabeth “Liz” Parks on Sept. 22, 1951, in Red Oak, at the Presbyterian Church in the parlor. Bill served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Upon his arrival home, he started a job with the U.S. Postal Service and retired after 35 years of service. He was baptized in the Baptist Church but was a longtime member of the Red Oak Presbyterian Church where he served as Sunday School teacher, Trustee and Elder. Bill was also a longtime member of the Red Oak Masonic Lodge where he served as Worshipful Master, the chaplain for many different organizations, and served as the American Legion Commander in Red Oak. Bill and Liz spent many winters in Apache Junction, Ariz, where Bill took on the duty of Valentine’s Banquet Coordinator, which he enjoyed.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and sisters, Carolyn Stuvick, Joanne Graham, and Betty Fuller.
Survivors include his wife of almost 73 years, Elizabeth “Liz” Stuvick of Red Oak; son, Craig Stuvick and wife Becky of Nolensville, Tenn.; daughter, Beth Evans and husband Ron of Dewey, Ariz.; grandchildren, Mindy Olson and husband Rollie II of Chandler, Ariz.; Rachel Whalen and husband Shawn of El Mirage, Ariz.; and Katherine Stuvick-Ganesh and husband Venkat of St. Cloud, Minn.; great-grandchildren, Ingrid, Ruth, James, Hannah, Silas, and Ashlyn; many nieces, nephews and other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 14, 2024, at the Red Oak Presbyterian Church. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery with military honors. Memorials are suggested to the Red Oak Presbyterian Church.
