Wade Schaefer, 49

Wade M. Schaefer, 49, Red Oak, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital, Red Oak.
Wade Meredith Schaefer, the son of Robert Schaefer, was born March 19, 1974, at Dekalb, Ill. Wade was raised and graduated from high school in Denver, Colo. He furthered his education by attending college in Denver. While in school and college, Wade played soccer and was able to play in Europe and South America. He made Red Oak his home in 2015.
On Jan. 12, 2016, Wade was united in marriage to Jill Williams in Red Oak. Wade loved being outdoors and experiencing new adventures. He was an avid Chicago Bears fan, loved to visit with people, and had a heart of gold. Wade embraced Jill’s children and loved his cat “Sally.”
Wade is survived by his wife, Jill Schaefer of Red Oak; daughter, Mariah Griffin and companion Zane Hollingsworth of Stanton; sons, Shane Cox of Red Oak, and Zachery Cox and companion Courtney Weeks of Red Oak; brother, Joseph (Nicole) Schaefer of Applewood, Colo.; sisters, Kristi (Aaron) Razee of Imogene, and Leia Schaefer; father, Robert (Linda) Schaefer of Denver, Colo.; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bob and Sue Williams of Red Oak; brother-in-law, Jeff Williams of Bellevue, Neb.; and sister-in-law, Jenny Williams of Red Oak; other relatives and friends.

A Memorial Gathering will be held Saturday, August 5, 2023, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the First Christian Church, Red Oak, Iowa
