Ronald " Ron" Hart, 89
Ronald Dale “Ron” Hart, 89, Stanton, passed away Thursday, April 18, 2024, at the Good Samaritan Society in Red Oak.
Ron was born Sept. 25, 1934, in Shenandoah, the son of Oscar and Agnes (Tillman) Hart. He was raised in Shenandoah and graduated from Shenandoah High School. Ron then served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was aboard the USS Walker Destroyer Escort with the 7th Fleet ported out of Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.
Ron was united in marriage to Tressie Patton on Feb. 27, 1958, in Nevada, Mo. Over the years, they lived in Shenandoah; Rockport and Nevada, Mo.; Auburn, Neb.; and Corpus Christie, Texas before moving to Red Oak in 1977 and in the most recent years Stanton. Ron was a member of the Evangelical Covenant Church in Stanton and the American Legion, both in Red Oak and Stanton. He was the 2nd Vice Commander while in the Red Oak Legion. He enjoyed walking, fishing, and spending time at the YMCA. Ron worked for many years at the Red Oak Community Schools as custodian, retiring in1994.
Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Tressie on Nov. 20, 2015; one sister; and two brothers.
Survivors include his children, Gary Hart and wife Joanne of Bentonville, Ark.; Bob Hart and wife Leslie of Stanton; and Angie McArdle of Red Oak; grandchildren, Jesse Hart and wife Michelle of Rogers, Ark.; Justin Hart and wife Amanda of Rogers, Ark.; Chanelle Lewis and husband Ryan of Rogers, Ark.; Seth Hart of Red Oak; Kyle Elwood of Cumberland; Josh Bullington of Red Oak; Tiffany McArdle of Red Oak; Britany McArdle of Red Oak; and Tia McArdle of Red Oak; 18 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Rose McConnell and husband Hooter of Auburn, Neb.; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel at 1995 G Ave. in Red Oak. Burial will be at the Mt. Hope Cemetery at Nyman.
